POZ 100 Highlights National Asian & Pacific Islander HIV Changemakers
Our very own Lance Toma, A&PI Wellness Center's Executive Director is named as one of the top 100 influential and inspirational champions in the AIDS pandemic in the recently released December 2010 issue of POZ Magazine.
"It is an honor to be recognized and an even bigger honor to be able to advocate for the needs of Asians & Pacific Islanders and other underserved communities like the transgender community," said Lance. "We are seeing unprecedented rises in HIV in our communities and this must be addressed in our country's response to the epidemic."
Other Asians & Pacific Islanders that are changemakers and included on the POZ 100 list for 2010 are Paul Kawata, Executive Director, National Minority AIDS Council; Naina Khanna, Director of Organizing and Policy at WORLD; Pat Nalls, Executive Director, the Women's Collective; and Ed Tepporn, HIV Program Director, Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum. We are thrilled to see so many A&PI leaders make it to the list this year! Way to go POZ!
