Hosted 273 prevention workshops, rap groups or socials attended by 1,749 individuals
- Produced and distributed over 120,000 brochures and palm cards promoting our multi-lingual HIV testing services.
- HIV-positive clients received 8,937 hours of direct client contact including 4,595 hours of case management and treatment advocacy, 469 hours of mental health counseling, 387 hours of psychiatric care and 3,486 hours of practical and emotional support.
- Produced six issues of our prevention magazine Rice Combo.
- Distributed $16,000 in scholarships to 13 queer Asian and Pacific Islander youth.
- Hosted more than 25 performers, dance groups and deejays at the Asian & Pacific Islander Stage at San Francisco’s LGBT Pride Celebration 2001.
- Distributed 3,524 bus, taxi and food vouchers to HIV-positive clients.
- Website received over 2.1 million “hits," providing visitors with information about services and program as well as useful health promotion information.
- Launched regular column on sexual diversity called Paying Attention in AsianWeek - the only national English language news weekly for Asian Pacific Americans.
- Published a new prevention brochure We Are Special: Transgenders & HIV which you can view on-line along with other prevention brochures in Tagalog, Chinese and Japanese.
- Hosted our first retreat for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Vietnamese community.
- Convened two first-ever national meetings focusing on HIV prevention in the South Asian and Transgender communities.
- In partnership with Project Inform, launched the California Statewide Treatment Education Program (CSTEP) to bring our successful local training program which educates non-medical service providers to cities across the state.
- Conducted 684 Individual Risk-Reduction Counseling Sessions of 30 minutes or more.
- Launched a new research-based prevention initiative for HIV-positive individuals which doubles the number of hours of psychotherpy we can offer our clients.
- Increased the staffing in our Women's Program enabling us to work directly with monolingual Korean-speaking women working in massage parlors.
