300 surveys administrated in Chinatown for HIV Anti-Stigma
Campaign in Chinese Community
SAN FRANCISCO - November 9, 2004 Twelve vibrant bilingual
Chinese youth volunteers administered over 300 surveys in
Cantonese and English on HIV/AIDS in Chinatown on 11/6 and
11/7.
Each youth administrator collected data from Chinese subjects
from the ages of 18 to 65+ years to assess their attitudes
and beliefs on HIV/AIDS. The analysis of the survey data will
be used to help develop an anti-stigma campaign targeting
Chinese communities in San Francisco on HIV/AIDS to be launched
in January 2005. A similar campaign will be rolled out in
the South Bay's Vietnamese Community.
This project is made possible by support from the Ford Foundation
and the Evelyn & Walter Haas Jr. Fund.
