Family Style: Recipes for Successful HIV Prevention Programs
for Asians & Pacific Islanders
A&PI Wellness Center is hosting "Family Style: Recipes
for Successful HIV Prevention Programs for Asians & Pacific
Islanders" on March 23-25, 2005 at Radisson Miyako Hotel,
San Francisco, California. The goal of this training is to
increase the capacity of Asian & Pacific Islander HIV
prevention programs in community-based organizations (CBOs)
across the nation and the Pacific region. We invite key staff
conducting HIV prevention interventions for A&PIs to attend
this training. To this end, trainings have been developed
to focus on each of the following areas and we ask for your
participation in attending to enhance:
1. DEBI (Diffusion of Effective Behavioral Interventions)
interventions adaptation, tailoring, and implementation;
2. Need assessment, program planning, and program evaluation;
and
3. Overall skills building related to staff development, communication,
and program supervision.
Organizations with CDC directly funded HIV prevention programs
are guaranteed two participant slots per organization. If
your organization falls under this category, please select
your two representatives internally and request them to send
in their completed applications by the deadline.
