HIV TESTING AT PRIDE
We're doing HIV testing in two locations at Pride this year! Check it out:
A&PI PAVILION
A&PI Wellness Center will offer free, confidential, and anonymous Rapid Oral HIV testing for at-risk A&PIs on Pride Sunday, 10am to 5pm in our booth at the A&PI Pavilion. No appointments are necessary, but we encourage you to arrive early to avoid long waits. We will also be offering STD testing to at-risk A&PI gay, bi and downe men. Due to the limited amount of first come, first served testing slots available, we will also be scheduling future appointments at our Wellness Clinic.
YOUTH PAVILION
The CandyShop, our HIV testing program for 10-24 year old transfemales of color , will be joining with the Larkin Street Youth Services to provide HIV rapid testing at the Queer Youth Space on Pride Sunday. Designed to be a clean and sober space, this year's Queer Youth space will be located in Civic Center Plaza. The CandyShop uses a "by youth, for youth" approach to getting more transgender youth to participate in HIV/AIDS interventions. CandyShop's peer leaders will be doing HIV tests on-site. Young transfemales of color who get an HIV rapid test will get a $20 VISA gift card, and an additional $40 VISA gift card for referring 10 friends who are also transfemales of color. The CandyShop is funded by Kaiser Permanente. |
