The Community Development core team comprises a diverse group of individuals with years of experience working with high-risk communities, providing HIV services in the field, delivering trainings, and providing CBA. We provide high-quality, culturally competent, and client-centered services to our clients.

What do we do?
We provide free trainings and consultation services (also known as capacity building assistance) to community-based organizations and non-medical providers in California and across the United States. CBA services include comprehensive 1-to-1 technical consultations, tailored online and in-person trainings, information sharing and peer learning.
Our services will support your organization to implement High-Impact HIV Prevention programs, improve your ability to work with People living with HIV/AIDS, and build a stronger workforce.
We specialize in:
HIV Testing → targeted recruitment, quality assurance, and linkage to care
HIV Treatment (trainings only) → biology of HIV, ARTs, and medication adherence
Prevention with People Living with HIV → HIP interventions, patient navigation, and partner services
Condom Distribution → needs assessments, campaign design, social media, and evaluation
Public Benefits (California-specific trainings) → social security and disability income, health care coverage, Ryan White programs for people living with HIV/AIDS
Social Marketing and Social Media → designing campaigns, implementing social media strategies and protocols, media needs assessments
Program Monitoring & Evaluation → needs assessment, quality assurance, outcome evaluation

How can you request CBA?
For CDC directly-funded Community-Based Organizations - you can request capacity building assistance using the CBA Request Information System (CRIS).
For organizations that are indirectly funded or not funded by CDC and provide HIV Prevention Services, you can ask your local health department to submit a CBA request on your behalf through CRIS.

Our training and CBA programs are funded by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the California Department of Public Health, Office of AIDS.
